1. Supreme Court Expresses Unease Over

...While the Supreme Court reviewed a series of cases joined
together, their ruling may affect dozens more. Alabama Governor Don
E. Siegelman is the most prominent target of a federal honest
services fraud prosecution so far, and the prosecution of his case
remains under a cloud of accusations now raised by attorneys
general across the United States, of gross misconduct by the Justice
Department. Mississippi’s Paul Minor, and Georgia’s Charles Walker
are other cases in which Justice Department lawyers achieved honest
services fraud convictions that are now under attack.

....A federal law that is a favorite tool of prosecutors in corruption
cases met with almost universal hostility from the justices in Supreme
Court arguments on Tuesday.
The law, enacted in 1988, makes it a crime “to deprive another of the
intangible right of honest services.” The law is often used to
prosecute corporate executives and politicians said to have
defrauded their employers or constituents.
Justices across the court’s ideological spectrum took turns on
Tuesday attacking the law as hopelessly broad and vague.

....The findings first came in a devastating Washington Post op-ed,
citing an anonymous source which the paper has consistently refused
to divulge. The list of the alleged “other women” this young stud of
the G.O.P. has bedded reads like a “who’s who” of young Asian
hotties: Mei Zhongyu, Lucy Liu, Fong Ying, Ming Lee, Lee Hsien
Loong, Kelly Hu — the list of women being linked to Rove continues to
grow at an almost hourly rate. While Tiger seems to exclusively prefer
the company of Caucasian Barbie-types, Karl “Rove You Long Time”
has an acute case of the Asian flu.
