1. Obama to Face Test on Executive
Privilege After Rove Subpoenaed Again Over
Attorney Firings, Siegelman Prosecution
An Amy Goodman Interview with Scott Horton, David Iglesius and Don Siegelman
for Democracy Now
The chair of the House Judiciary Committee, John Conyers, has
subpoenaed former White House adviser Karl Rove to testify next
week about the Bush administration’s firing of nine US attorneys and
the prosecution of former Alabama governor Don Siegelman. Rove
previously refused to appear before the panel, and former President
Bush upheld his legal position. Rove’s attorney, Robert Luskin, said
he would consult with President Obama’s White House counsel to
determine the Obama administration’s stance. We speak with attorney
Scott Horton and former Alabama governor Don Siegelman.

2. Will Karl Rove and Others Finally be
Required to Testify to the
House Judiciary Committee?
by Gary Ater of American Chronicle
....Last year, during a hearing on the case in US District Court in
Washington, D.C., Judge John Bates said Congress could have had
Josh Bolton, Harriet Miers and Karl Rove arrested for refusing to
comply with the subpoenas. While historically Congress has ordered
people detained for refusing to comply with subpoenas, that power
has not been used in modern times. But on Monday, several
Democrats on the Judiciary Committee said if Rove refuses to comply
with the subpoena they will urge Conyers to act on Bates' advice and
have him arrested.
